While working with corporate brands is quite easy as they all have a defined guideline. Even then, for creative people there is still plenty of room for all the creativity and originality that you can include. You have to have that vision to catch those caps, expand your creativity and try to fit them within those guidelines. Sometimes it is challenging but is also fun. But while working with small business, I would say, it’s more challenging, as you actually have to help them to define their branding guidelines and every dollar ($) that they spent counts. Designers' need communication skills to convince and audience visually.
